you will getting heavy coking on the rings and ash deposits running low ash high speed air cooled FD oil in a low speed water cooled engine that needs tcw3 or tcw3rl

I disagree. Ive been in several saws and blowers to see how much Klotz oil leaves in the bottomends at 42to1 compared to other oils at 32to1. Its just that simple. Its enough to be very noticeable and I cant tell anybody why Klotz does but its to do with the oil and not the ratio. Most other oils I would agree that ratio would be the factor but not with Klotz
Cutting firewood any oil will work at 40:1 or less I'd bet. If you're milling or competing with hot saws then a high viscosity will help with more protection. Jason just posted Walmart oil at 40:1 they're having no issues in ported saws.

Cut some of this crappy dirty wood up today. Dusted about three chains cuttin dirt. Used the klotz super techniplate. None of my saws blew up...not even the 044/046 that I ported crappily with a dremel.

Walmart oil at 32:1 would work too. No one has ever said they've experienced ANY engine malfunction using ANY brand of oil at 32:1.

What are you doing that requires 24:1?

441 just locked up..... I think something bottom end came up through. Was cutting some some 18 inch cherry and all of a sudden she just quit. Chain was sharp as can be, good self feeding. Non ethanol fuel, and running GP7 at 32:1

A little pissed but it is what it is I guess. Tearing down in about 15 mins.

She would turn over then all of a sudden she locked solid. I don't think it is an oil issue, probably just luck of the draw.
