Excellent post. That shows us again it's the quantity of oil not the perceived quality of oil.
I totally agree. Some may be better than others but, I doubt most would notice a difference in their saw. We all always want the best of everything though. And oil threads make the web world spin.

I disagree. Ive been in several saws and blowers to see how much Klotz oil leaves in the bottomends at 42to1 compared to other oils at 32to1. Its just that simple. Its enough to be very noticeable and I cant tell anybody why Klotz does but its to do with the oil and not the ratio. Most other oils I would agree that ratio would be the factor but not with Klotz
That K2 pic I posted is a good example, same saw different oils and ratio

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

Most on here say a rich tune will leave a clean piston. I disagree and say it's the quality of detergent in the oil. I've seen a few pistons lately that were tuned very rich and looked like yours ran on stihl ultra.
I feel like the exit port of the oem baffle was restricting it too much. I didn't open it when I put the dual port on and it has a little gray around the hole like it had been really hot.

I used that stuff for 20 years before AS in everything I had- snowmobiles, outboards, saws...the only thing I noticed is it'll plug screens, and if the rings are worn, the blowby turns the bearings black. As far as carbon buildup, my 625 piston looked like the top was painted flat black with no buildup. I go through 10-12 gallon jugs of it per year

The blue bottle supertech is bottled by warren. The new syn grey bottle is blended by citgo. It's probably quite similar to citgo sea and snow fd

This is the 660 I'm sending Dave. Is this piston wash from being too rich? I was trying to err on the rich side as I had just installed a dual port cover and was still tuning it. The insides looked really well lubed with only a hint of dampness in the exhaust . Stihl silver at 50:1.View attachment 19228
Looks a little rich with the washed area wet. Other than that nothing out of the ordinary.

Which version of Klotz?

Thanks, piston was carboned across the top when I reringed and reinstalled it. Interesting that it is now clean on the exhaust side. No idea what oil was ran before I bought it.
