Hey fellas.
I could use some input.......
I'm always coming across mysterious things at auctions and thought a thread to share knowledge might useful.
I'm thinking just post a pic or two of an item and see if the knowledge pool can enlighten us.
I'd like to keep it on the tools/machining/equipment/guy stuff topics if possible.
It would be a real help to me in my business if folks would share their knowledge of things I post here, and by all means if someone else needs something ID'd post it up!
Also, about anything I'd post here is probably for sale, as buying & selling is one of my side hustles.



Anyways, here goes......

This stuff came out of a tooling cabinet recently I got with a Bridgeport mill I picked up.
The one piece is probably some kind of height gage, but I can't find any makers marking on it.

Jergens are step blocks for holding odd shaped pieces on a machine table. And we still don't know what that handle is for.

And if I were guessing I would say the piece with a dial is a height gauge that you use with a dial gauge.

That was my question as well at first, but looking at the company who made them there are pictures of blocks exactly like the one you have.

Listed as a master plain bore ring gage. I would assume used to check measurements between machined parts the master.
