I collect, restore, refurbish lawn boy engines made pre 1996. i prefer the OMC built lawnboy.
light weight magnesium decks and powerful reed ported 2 strokes. most around 3.5 hp 108cc 3200 rpms and will spank any pusher made today.

What''s the recoil volume and style like on the .460 S&W and the .338? I have a taste for horsepower but find the recoil of different cartridge/firearms combos interesting. I'd rather play with a .416 rigby in a Ruger #1 or a CZ550 or a M70 .300WinMag than a light .270 or .30-06 bolt action. Powerwise, my rifle experience goes from .22 Hornet - .300WinMag and then skips to .416 Rigby/.45-70 and .577 Nitro Express in a double rifle. I have yet to play w/a .338 Win Mag or a .375 H&H but want to try both along with the 9.3x62mm and .375 Ruger.

I also have a 6" 608 Taurus .357 and 4" 629 which I like and had a 5.5" Old model Vaquero Bisley in .45 Colt which when running 275-320 WFN 2nd tier handloads was a lot of fun. I sold it back to the buddy I bought it from to buy a Blackhawk Bisley in order to have adjustable sights but have yet to get it done. I still want to buy one, but am torn between a Super Redhawk in .454 Casull and a .460 Smith due to their additional flexibility. Revolver-wise, my experience goes from .22 to .44mag and .45 Colt and then skips to the .480 Ruger out of a 7.5" Super Redhawk which was a strong shove.

I like slower, more deliberate, shove-like recoil (if that makes sense) versus nasty whip or jab-like recoil. I definitely prefer a .45-70 to a .444 Marlin. What are your thoughts?

338 Lapua wasn't too bad for recoil with a brake. The percussion is what sucks. A 338 WM wasn't horrible without a brake. 300wsm out of a lower weight hunting rifle wasn't pleasant. The same caliber in a FN TSR wasn't bad at all.

I like the recoil of a 4570 a lot more than my 3006. The 4570 definitely it more of a push type recoil. If I had to use only one rifle though I think my 2506 would have to be my favorite for an all around gun where I live. Next favorite would be a 243.
