The other thing you may want to look into is a track saw. You can get them from DeWalt, Grizzly, etc. They are pretty flexible for making nice straight line cuts, and you can make the track as long as you want. Their max cut is still a little over 2" usually. It might be a better option if space is a concern. You can use them for anything you can clamp a rail to also, so it's probably more useful than an end planer or straight line rip saw may be.

View attachment 237829 View attachment 237830 New tv stand out of a spruce burl, wife wanted to try grey stain but didn’t work out just like every other time I try a color stain. So sanded it down lightly to get most of it off then restained with natural. I aced kinda like the left over grey in spots. Using an old set of cast iron sewing machine legs for the base.

I took down a few birches yesterday, this was the base of one of them. I’ve got a friend that makes butterfly jewelry. I’m going see if he wants it to display some of his pieces

Wish this was mine but it isnt, milled a ash burl for one of my neighbors today. About 38-39” at widest point.

That’s amazing! I’ve never seen an ash burl. If you ever find any small burls, ones that most turners would think are too small, I’d take if they’re green.

It's walnut and birch, coffee table size. It's a lego table for my youngest son, the birch top is recessed from the walnut boarder. The birch will be covered in lego platforms only exposing the walnut boarder. It will easily convert back to a regular table if needed. I'll take some more pictures when it's done, hopefully today!
