Pull the flywheel, mark the key with a sharpie while it's in the crank, grab the key with a pair of vise grips at the same depth it was in the crank, now carefully file off .020" of the portion that has the sharpie ink on it. Install, rotate flywheel ahead til it butts up to the key and lock it down.
thanks for that , it wouldn't want more that .020
then is tuning done the same way

Tree monkey would have warned you if the coil is self advancing, so that's likely no worry.

The Shindaiwa coils are self advancing. They retard for easy starting and have an advance curve based on RPM. Filing the key and rotating the flywheel shifts the base timing, as well as the advance curve.

Start small and work up. I think you could go as much as .030 but .010 might be enough. It's something that has to be experimented with.

By no means is ignition timing a magic bullet. I think you'd get more out of a good muffler mod and a proper carb tune.

You could probably just open up under the deflector some but I don't remember what the 757 muffler looks like.

757's muffler is a zoo compared to a 575.
