Understandable, knowing how you are are, just figured you weren’t happy not getting big gains so figured you’d keep looking for more in them.

The cut times didn’t show huge gains but it gained a lot by feel. Couldn’t stall it with a 10 pin when done.

Spun bearings. I think it was an issue with the early 390s as well. My 385 is still dead reliable.
?.. not sure. Early 385 had a crank issue of some kind. The spinning bearing with 390 happens with hours of use but guys get their yr out of a ported 390 for coast falling. I see that as no prob but I wouldn't want a 'retired' one.

That 12.5 limit makes these things odd....
Is the 585 limited to 12,500 also? That would frustratingly frustrate me to no end when limbing, I'd rather eat rocks than limb with a saw maxing out @12.5! Five hundred rpm makes a big difference, cause I set most of my big saws at 13,000, including the 395.

Great saw and porter...but max speed is irrelevant. My 064 four strokes well beyond 14k but it has the best power and stays cool continuing to perform well tuned around 13,6xx or so.
Max speed is irrelevant to those that buck and fell wood. But those like myself that spend half a day just limbing trees, the rpm matters ALOT!!!

Meh screw your logic Dom!:risas3: I was really just funin’ around. Like I said in the other thread, I really liked the 592/585 that Kevin brought to solsticefest. Sometimes I just like stirring the pot.

I think Husky will have a hit on their hands with these saws after some fellers get a chance to run them. I didn’t really notice the rpms being limited. I mean limited coils have been around for how long now on modern saws… 12.5k is kinda low but not really out of the ordinary. The dolmar 7910 is limited to 12,800… Want faster chain speed pop the next size up sprocket on there… problem solved. It’s our job to adapt to and run the tool to its fullest potential… Not the other way around
