Question on the amount of gas this carburetor is transferring, seems excessive. Quickly floods itself out. When pulled over slow there is a large volume of gas coming out of muffler. We are under a fire ban so no turning over but when last night before ban that’s when I got the leaks out and it drew fuel like it’s thirsty but flooded itself out.

Picked up a 10-10 and I have a question...
Should this have a screen on inside of the recoil cover to keep anything from coming in contact with the flywheel?
I've seen some with it and without...so I have to ask here .

Thanks
Ernie

McCulloch PN is 87674. I have a few NOS as well as some 3D printed ones that I make (and sell) as well. The 3D printed ones are not exact duplicates but are as close as I can achieve with my machine. We tried several different shaped holes before coming up with this one. The ones out there with the triangular shaped holes are copies of one of our early designs.

Close to pulling the trigger on a 10-10. Is there any way to know if one of these takes the hens teeth domed filter or the "low filter" readily available one. Can you exchange parts that will accept the newer non dome low filter?

If you look through the 10-10 IPLs you may be able to narrow down the change over. I tried to fit a low filter on my saw and I don't believe it was even wide enough to cover at the base, you might be able to 3D print an adapter.

My 10-10s (non-Super) have the high filter:

The Super 10-10s look to have the low filter:

The later Pro Mac 10-10 (what ErnieG got) uses the same low filter:

The Pro Mac 10-10s looks to have a similar low filter, but different part number, possible same filter just newer part number:

If you get a 10-10 with the low filter, let me know, I have a new low filter I don't need.

It looks like (looking through the IPLs) all of the right-hand pull start 10-10 (1967-1970) have the high filter and the last two years of production (1971-1972) they swapped the pull start over to the left hand but continued to use the high filter. All of the Super 10-10, Pro Mac 10-10 and Pro Mac 10-10s all used the low filter.

If you have a photo of the saw look carefully at the AF cover, the one on the left (MAC10-10 & 10-10A or 10-10 Automatic) uses the more expensive domed air filter, the one on the right uses the readily available PM style flatter filter.

It is possible to change the whole tank assembly to switch from the dome to the flat filter, but then you might as well just wait for a later model saw.

I make some that flex and protect but don't break.

Went my storage unit today and grabbed my dad's old saws (Mac 10-10 Automatic and Mac 3214). They've been there since he passed away 12 years ago and I figured it's time to either do something with them or get rid of them. Kind of want to keep them b/c they have sentimental value (esp the 10-10). Would either of them be worthwhile to get running? How about parts availability? I haven't tried to start them, just pulled the cords slowly to get a rough idea of compression. The 10-10 seems to have really good compression but the starter cord didn't retract, compression on the 3214 is cr@p. I found a piston/ring set (1-3/4 bore) for a 10-10 but not sure if all the various 10-10 versions use the same piston. Can't find a piston/ring for the 3214 to save my life. Anyone know where to get parts for the 3214 or is it just going to be a wall hanger? Thanks.View attachment 459587
I have a 3200 here that is complete. Dont remember where it came from, but im POSITIVE i didnt give any actual money for it.
That series of saws was made by Jenn Feng if im remembering correctly. If im not, @heimannm will surely correct me. Made in Tiawan?
This one doesnt seem to have great compression either.
I THINK there is a 3214 in the barn at dads house.

I definitely understand wanting to save something for sentimental reasons. Its worth what you are willing to put into it, just understand that others may not be willing to pay that if you decide to sell it.

Feel free to PM me if you need any parts.
Would be yours for the cost of shipping.

The 32/35/38 cc mostly plastic saws were the last ones designed and built by McCulloch before they sold the name (Jenn Feng for North America, Husqvarna for Europe). Most of those saws were assembled in the McCulloch plant in Hermosillo, Mexico but I think some were actually assembled in the Tucson location. Jenn Feng did continue to produce some of those models as they implemented their own designs. You can see some similar concepts in the Jenn Feng saws.

FWIW - I sold a coil and clutch drum to a fellow last week for a 3200, when he stopped today to collect his just rebuilt MS362 he noted the 3200 was "a little screamer"...his words not mine...

I decided to attack this 12-25 today. I wasn't quite sure what I would find under the grime, turns out there is no paint hiding anywhere.

I did witness this saw running a few years ago when Mitch Weber brought it to the Iowa spring GTG.
