Duane Zollo also brought a 940 and an SP125. We got the 940 to run, but Duane didn't want to try and make a cut. I think I saw a photo of Duane and Sheldon messing with the SP125.

Got a short block, ready to replace America,, got a really nice flywheel with good starter paws off eBay, I got this block from Rich Duggan years ago, it’s been freshened up by Terry Ives, it has a little bit of porting on this intake transfer side, but nothing anywhere else, it’s a real one oh1 B, with the correct 101B crank fully welded as per usual nowadays .IMG_0182.jpegIMG_0183.jpegimage.jpg

Got to get some seals and things to finish this up, along with some bearings for the next 125 project

Looking great Nathan! We'll have to race this motor vs. my "eyebrow" ported 101 next time we meet up...I'll have to figure out a bigger carb though.

I got this nice PM650 from Cinci5 (Jeff Fox) the other day.It was in pieces ion a box.All I had to do was put it together..I did swap out the oiler as I'd never seen a piston type pump on the 600 series ( it was in pieces as well) & the chain brake to the more modern style.I don't care for the flag style chain brake..After it was together it took about 7-8 pulls & it roared to life.

When you folks that have CP / SP125's are cutting for fun or races do you run .404 chain or 3.8 chain?

Both - On my largest displacement 125, I have a ten-pin sprocket with 3/8ths and a pretty aggressive grind.

On my early 125 that runs low like a tractor, I'm running .404" on an 8-tooth sprocket. Rakers are set at .028".

I run 3/8 with a 10 or 11 tooth sprocket on my SP125 with a short bar for cookies.

Same for the 101 kart saw. The Mac 40 saw is set up with an 8 tooth until I can find a bar with a wider tail to make sure the chain stays on.

One more addition, my SDC carbed 101b runs .404 7 pin on a 36" bar ok, but does not have enough carb for a 50" bar. If I can get my 101b BDC carbed saw to run, it will run a 7 pin 1/2 chisel with 36" bar. SDC carbs are just too small for 101's.

Ya I agree, the sdc20 is just too small period. The sp or cp could use more carb and reed area, the only saving grace to the Sdc 20 and stock reaeds is the saws starting an idle manners are excellent,. The bdc’s seem to be a bit temperamental

Getting the needle height setting and spring pressure correct on a BDC is a difficult thing for this guy to get right.

Didn't someone on here try a WB carb?
I have done the wb swap, as don said it take some work, but the air box is intact with an air filter, going to try the homelite wb next, with a choke to see if I can get good all around manners.
Yes, however a custom intake had to be fabricated and the tank required a bunch oc material removal, albeit much lwss than for a BDC. A WB might be the best answer and a small run of intakes would likely sell.
I am planning on making a small run, have the one saw apart now, so this is the time! My first version I couldn’t use the manual oiler, the second version it works
