Yes, 21 Amps @ 14.6 Volts.

As standard was likely only 16 amps, as the the batteries would have sagged to around 10 volts under load.

Tested at 14.6V as I am considering LiPo batteries that would be in that area.

If they had ni-cad origionally, I'd switch to NiMh, as they last much longer and can provide that needed surge current. One example from Digikey NiMh c-cell 2 pack . I know that cells are available with tabs to make assembly easier if wired.

Those things were made in the mid 60's. What type of cells I haven't a clue but I doubt Ni-Cad .Actually I've only seen one example in my life time .Saying that plus the very short time they were sold tells me it wasn't a success in sales numbers .Novelty, collectors saw .

The charge regulator is missing/blown in my saw, I don’t plan to have the batteries charge when installed, I’ll charge them externally in a proper charger and pop them in when needed.

off topic but I think this group is the best source of info I have found.
Why are there two thicknesses of pump side gasket in most sdc carb Kits?
Has anyone ever seen a yellow top tank and handle SP80 ?I have one.
Does any one have a source for rubber bumpers on on back of tank for SP 80?
I am looking at new stuff that could be made to work if no other option.
What do you guys think of Klass coat epoxy paint for our chain saws ? It is fuel proof
and tough. Thanks for your help !

Bob - the Walbro documents say to use the thick gasket with a stamped steel cover, and the thinner gasket with the cast aluminum cover.

Mark

P.S. I have a few of the bumpers, PN 84272

I have wondered about that second gasket for several years . And read everything I could get my eyes on. Missed that but I did learn to make the check valves for SDC carbs from older pump rubber diaphram and got a tool to take out brass seat for it. That high speed check valve will drive you crazy

Finished up a Pro Mac 55 today ,painted with epoxy paint . Cut up a fire wood tree to break in rings . Had help from Mark Heimann with a few hard to find parts. Had to mix yellow down with deep red to get close and shoot black satin thru HF gun unthined to get texture on black parts. It came in bad shape but with custom oiler button.

The color match looks pretty spot on.

Not on a sp80, they were all black. Likely the tank was swapped out. Sp70 was all yellow with black air filter cover. Pm850 was all yelllow, the 800 was all yellow also.

Ive not posted this here yet but its been busy at work and of course easter...but i built another saw from parts. I did post it on AnotherSite not picking favorites but just a time thing...anywho....i wanted a gear drive antivibe saw. I seena video of a 797 gear drive and thought. I can do that. So i set out to build a gear drive 70cc 10 series with antivibe. Basically a SP70G. Well after some thought and fitting and parts finding...i did it. Took a sp70 that started life as a 7-10 engine, and added a G70 oil tank and gear case, and a few pieces from a cp70, i got it all together. It works fine and oils fine and runs great. Havent had a chance to cut yet but its cool and 1 ofa kind mac saw. Resized_Resized_20230402_192448.jpegResized_20230402_192526.jpegResized_20230402_175626.jpeg

I suspect the CP was the logical choice since the lower AV mount connects to the handlebar bracket?

BTW, I received a box from Mitch K this week with 4 different 82 cc cylinders sleeved and ready to go. Perhaps before the year is out I will make time to put another saw together.

Speaking of same ,sleeves I'm curious of the proceedure and the material .In my way of thinking becauese a 10 series block is thinner walled than a reed valve I'd assume something like 4140 steel instead of cast iron .That plus you'd just about need a port map templete to cut in the transfers . No matter what it would be time consuming to say the least .
