It can certainly be used as a key fob. I wanted to have souvenirs for the Cub Scout tour on Tuesday and I don't have enough actual BP-1 to give one to everyone. The BP-1 was also the first photo I found of a good broadside view that could easily be turned into a 3D drawing.

I went for a four mile run earlier this week. Doc says I messed up one of my metatarsals. Told me to rest but I'm having a hard time staying still. I've got alot of personal things I want to get done before I leave at end of month for work.

My old man ran the 10-10s today he's tickled to death. Only have a few issues I'm not happy with. Recoil is sluggish, the pressed on stud for brake is loose, and the oil tank seal needs addressing. Edit: needs a good gas cap and I suspect the throttle linkage isn't the right one. But it does function.

Got pretty much all the same issues with mine except the oil tank leak.
On the recoil, ive heard a good disassembly and cleaning, followed by using a dry graphite powder lubricant works well.
On the gas caps, still working on that...

I just oil the recoils, fyi. Heck, the other day I poured bar oil into my 5-10's recoil when it stopped recoiling and that fixed it. What's the problem with the gas caps?

Some of the older 10 Series saws utilized a brass bushing rather than the two piece nylon bushings. They were good for lots of service but once the brass is worn, the whole housing must be replaced. This one is worn beyond useful service but I will hold onto it in case I need one for display only.

I have found many with the nylon bushings broken which can lead to the bushing binding on the shaft. I normally lubricate them with white lithium when I have one apart. That seems to work pretty well and does leave a mostly dry lubricant. If you get 3 in 1 brand white lithium you also get that characteristic 3 in 1 odor which I rather enjoy.

I also find many recoil springs that are gummy with old oil and/or grease and don't rewind smoothly due to the coils sticking. I give them a bath in the parts washer (mineral spirits) which gets them working properly again.

The wrap handles in the photo above are for the CP or SP model saws and won't work on the rigid saws like the 10-10 and PM700 saws. I do have some fabricated from steel for the RH and LH start saws, PM for your options.

The gas cap leaks if saw is on its side.

Mine even leaks if its upright and you fill it all the way.
Need to redo the duckbill setup somehow. Its the newer style with the tiny metal tubing that goes in from the side of the cap.
Ive heard theres a way, just havent looked that far into it.

Check out my youtube video on it. User name is Mac 131. Easy to fix. Mark has a good write up on here too I believe.

Ok. I see now. Stupid easy to fix, and I SHOULD have a couple of those duckbill valves already.(if I can remember where).
Thanks!
Fyi there's a brass, plastic and steel version of that vent system ,only the plastic and brass tubes are removable. The steel tube is not removable.
