MC-70 Kart motor from 1963. 7.08 cubic inch.
Saw should run pretty good but not like the MC75, MC100 and MC101's.
But still a very nice find. The chassis could have been a 790.
Thanks i knew someone would know what it was.
I have a 840 that looks a lot like this new saw, right down to the rubbers on the oiler leaver.
Seeing we are a small population up north.... I've found a few gems around.....
got to keep looking....got to keep looking for a 125

The 840 is a geardrive where your's is a direct drive. Same basic chassis.
I would think you would be able to find a 125 and 797 or any big Mac
up in your neck of the woods. They were used heavily all through the
PNW into Canada.

Clutch for a Pro Mac 1000 to be had somewhere?

I have a possible swap for one (saw) but don't want to get into impossible unobtanium.
Speculation, goes like this .The Partner k1250 concrete saw I think is the same engine as the P100 therefore the same as a PM 100o McCulloch.

From what I see and what I think I've figured out it might be the same clutch which might also fit the 395,2100,and 3120 Husqvarna plus a bunch of concrete saws . according to what I found on flea bay .It looks like there are two designs ,the spiders are slightly different .

I have both a 2100 Husky and a 1000 Mac .If I can find some time in the next few days I'll pop the covers off and give them a visual .

It seems in my reading they often refer to the Partner concrete and rail saws by Partner/Husqvarna .It might be a thing they both sold certain models under their own brand ,different covers, same machine .

Well i don't have any gear drives, maybe the 840 was crossed out, could it be 740 then?
As for any big saws up here, there aren't any big trees around here.Piles of xl12's,every pile of saws i come across has them in it.A 046 or 372 is considered a big saw around here.
I did bring a 797 back from Ontario with me,but the 125 is still being elusive. But money can always change that.

Yes it could be a 740 as the 740, 840 use the same engine and were stamped
with both models with one being crossed out. a direct drive would have the
840 crossed out and an 840 would have the 740 crossed out. Mac did it on
the 790, 890 as well.
When you least expect it i'm sure a 125 will find it's way to you. Mac made
then by the train load.

Mac engines powered a lot if things .Bomb hoists for the US Navy being one . Another, post hole augers using a 250 power source .At around 5 HP running at speed if they get bound on a root or rock while digging a hole the auger stops and it will twirl around two 200 hundred pound men and never slow down .You get that much power through a high gear ratio reduction unit you've got a bunch of power .

I picked this up while on vacation. Great compression and it fires up easily.

I have never seen a 10 series that throws this much bar oil. I'll have to get in there and back it off.

The front handle bar appears to be bent back a bit and I'm not sure if the muffler is original to the saw.

I like the 70cc series and have a PM700, another 7-10A and a 5-10A that is waiting for me to find a good RH starter assy.
