Power Mac 6, with that handle and no brake around 1971. The PM6 was a favorite bucket saw in its day (as in use while you're in a bucket up in the air, not a "bucket list" saw...).

The banana handle model was earlier, the brake equipped PM6A was later.

So I got a super 250 that has some mag rot on the rear handle and recoil. Does those same parts off a 250 fit?

Classic wet concrete floor ‘white death’ there Wayne.
[emoji1785]

Only thing worse is ‘pole barn dirt floor’. Entire bottom gone.

For any of you who know the story and haven't seen this on AS...

I think it's gonna turn into one of my favorites for a variety of reasons.

Great job Poge! I know you are happy you beat it.

The 7-10 in my opinion is the best ridgid 10 series. Followed by a PM60.

It was a very gratifying experience and I learned a lot about the earlier 70cc Macs.

I certainly appreciated your input and thank you much!

Thought about it but have no idea how to ship it or what to ask for it.

Ship it like you would any other item. Drain the liquids, wrap in in a few trash bags, put it in a box and pack it well to where it wont move. Take it to the post office. :)

Next question is why sell it? Thats an awesome saw! Just seen it in you profile you where looking to sell it.

On the 7-10 's they are good runners and probably a tad bit better than a 700 .With a points ignition you can a tad bit of spark advance just by the points setting if you want to .Of course if you go too far they have a tendency to try to pull you backwards through the rewind which is not pleasant .Yes in case anybody asks a 70 cc saw can do that and it's painful .

Picked a nos wrap that fits a 125, but it tall like target quickie but has the factory holes for a 125. Has anyone seen a 125 based cutoff saw? Here is a pic of the wrap, then a pic of standard wrap, tall wrap, and wide chainbrake wrap. They all fit the 125, but are all different! I don’t have a half wrap, wouldn’t mine one......C7A9717F-3E3B-4E75-B7FC-2B3EA2889269.jpegC7B67305-849B-43C2-B77C-842BAC38B6B2.jpeg

On the 7-10 's they are good runners and probably a tad bit better than a 700.

That's what everyone says. Some folks are more adamant about it than others. Fact is, it depends on quite a few variables considering there were three different cylinders for 7-10s and two for PM700's..., with two of the three being used on both saws. Then there is the ignition aspect as you mentioned. Points here - electronic there. Different rings (and compression) between different variations of cylinders. Iron bore vs. chrome bore. At least three different carburetors among all of em...

Yep. I'd say it depends. I also think it's part perception due to the difference in weight between a 7-10 and a PM700 with a 7-10 being a lighter saw.

Folks will also say a 6-10A is a stronger saw than this, that, or the other. Could be..., considering the only major difference between an early 7-10 and a 6-10A is the sticker and which side the starter's on.

The debate will continue, but in most cases, the biggest difference will be how sharp the chain is.
