There were both 10-10S and 10-10S Special Edition models.

Both models were 57 cc as opposed to the conventional 10-10 models at 54cc. The piston and cylinder were the same bore and stroke the PM55, PM555 and PM570; the PM55 was points ignition and the PM555 electronic ignition, and the PM570 was an anti-vibe electronic ignition version. The PM555 and the 10-10S/SE were essentially the same saw.

McCulloch had a very good marketing department.

As I remember, the special edition sticker with the goose should make it one of the very last 10-10's. In the 90's and early 2000's Mac was applying those decals to many of their products usually with slightly different color schemes i.e., gray instead of black.

Found the fuel leaks on the 1-50. Bead blasted the tank and found some corrosion holes. After bead blasting I applied JB Weld to the pinholes and will apply 3 coats of Damon RedKote to seal against any other leaks.

What can be a problem on a saw that has sat long time if on a concrete floor is the "white death " .Most people have never heard of it .One component of Portland cement is blue clay which contains alumina which through a chemical reaction will literally suck the metal right out of the saw if in contact .It will also damage aluminum storm doors ,windows etc .
In the national electrical code for example it warns about using aluminum conduit in a concrete pour because of this reaction .--just a heads up ---

Nice tat, you wear it loud and proud!
Ya man, I like my Macs!!!!!! That photo was taken at the upstate NY GTG 2 years ago literally the day after I got that tatoo. I sunburned the hell out of it, my tatoo artist was not happy with me lol.
Thanks for the kind words!

Now thats brand loyalty.:D
Always wanted the mountain or flying goose somewhere, just keep spending the money on saws instead of ink.
Will, it looks like youre coming along nicely. How much fun was it to get the tank screws out?
Taking some yellow out to get in some "firewood aerobics" in a few.

Good stuff Kevin. How's the 840?
Hi Tim! I'm assuming you are talking about the 1-86. I got frustrated with it back in the spring and shelved it. First my fuel tank gasket leaked and ruined my paint and after 3 attempts its still leaking, then I broke the pull cord trying to get it to run right, then the starter decided not to engage any more, oh, the oiler wont work and the gearbox gasket is leaking too. [emoji35]
Other than that, it's great lol.

I stumbled over a pic of the 10-10 S first in line,805/850 in the rear .This is exactly the way I got it with a 20" Oregon bar and a Mac branded chisel chain that might have been filed once .A trimmer had it ,never used it and as usual removed the brake . Really it doesn't have any more grunt than a 54 cc model .Fact I've got a 54 that will out run it just doesn't look as snazzy .It had sat for years and I don't think I even rebuilt the carb

Yes agree I gotta late immaculate 10-10S I got it running as best as I could ,but theres a 10-10 automatic right hand starter early 70's back where I grew up that spent years cutting birch pulp and oak tops after timber was taken and itll out cut my 10-10S I used it this summer as the old chap isn't in the best of health
