How wide is that thang
Had to look it up and seems to be Claas 8500 and 3200 disc with flails which have a working spec of 8.3m or about 27'. I was thinking how long it would take with the flails breaking fescue stems before you could bale. Not to mention the ponies required to run a triple mower setup. Quick read up on it looks like people are running 200hp+ class on these setups.

He took that picture and sent it to me. I sent him the other one. Not a word spoken of it. Gotta have a little fun at work.

As for the fire source no clue. Ran for several hours tonight. Checked everything out nothing hot anywhere

The neighbor hires a guy who has that setup on a big Fendt tractor (probably about 250 horse). He wants 200+ acres ready to mow per day. That's a lot of chasing with any baler or chopper. But he's up and going at sunup, and doesn't stop till full dark.

I didn’t get a picture of said event but I did witness it.

I was on my way back from the ethanol plant on a busy 2 lane Hwy when a friend called & said watch out for Lonnie he is driving his 7700 down the road with his auger out.

Just then I crest the hill to see 3 trucks & 2 cars behind a combine on the shoulder but the trucks can’t pass because DA has his auger out in their lane & they are on a slight uphill grade so it’s a no passing zone, as I get closer he hangs a left turn & drives up tree lined Main Street of a town right along the highway. I have no idea if he made it or not but I highly doubt it’s the first occurrence of this.

This is the same DA that the DOT had pulled over a couple years ago hauling a smashed up grain bin on a flat bed with no stamps or chains on his way to the salvage yard about 65 miles away.

I think I still go around fields with hedgerows so the “passenger side” faces the woods. Not sure if it’s cause I was taught that way or if I do it just for that little extra clearance backing up. Just know I still do it quite a bit

That’s funny, my brothers & I just had a discussion the other about my dad opening up every field he is in with the auger to the fence/tree row side. We all open them up auger to the inside. I suspect dad’s process is from years of the cab being on the left side & easy to see the fence and/or downed brush along the field borders.

I'd love to get a Fendt 300 series tractor but I don't think they sell them that small over here. You want to box one up in some magazines and send one to me Andrew? :D
