I had been looking for felling dawgs as I had some needing them. There is a local guy that burned me some on his plasma machine. I did some final sanding, filing, and painted.
Second pic is oem, third the the new mild steel. Worked out good.

The carburetor didn’t suit me on tuning, I removed the Welch plug over top of the main nozzle, closed it off, new Welch plug. Opened up the air filter with a unibit to match inlet elbow better, closed off the factory muffler outlet with sheet metal, and added some fish gill slots ahead of the brake flag to move the heat away.

great find bud.
For some odd reason I’ve only got them with the PTO bearing as a spinner, either the crank or the bearing was outside specification.

it’s pretty complete needs a carb overhaul it fires and runs with Petrol down the elbow I won’t keep this one I only collect the 42’s

it’a route I have to with my 242’s, them felling dawgs has been NLA for years.
Even the bar protection plate became NLA last year, same with all decals.

Too bad shipping across the pond would probably be insane, would really like to add a 238 to the collection. That and a 42 and I'll have all of the family I think I am going to find. Not holding my breath for a 133.

Trip to the city with the wife today. Of course I browsed the classifieds. Picked up this beauty from a Husky dealer for $212 CAD, with a 30 day warranty no less...

Since the top cover say Special, what top end does she have? Closed dual ports or quad open ports?

A few more pictures now that it's home on my bench. Gillardoni quad transfer open port cylinder.
Looks like it spent more of its life on a shelf/in a truck than actually doing anything.
Dad had one decaled like this one, and a slightly later one with the special script on the recoil that did have a closed port cylinder. The fellow who dad gave most of his collection is pretty sure he still has it, but I haven't been able to meet up with him while I have been on vacation in the 2 years since dad passed(3000km away so it isn't just a quick trip.)
