In my area of Oz there are the occasional ticks, but when the ground is wet the bloody leeches will get you. Gawd, I hate those things. The slimy little buggers will get inside your clothes and latch on to you, and you end up with a something resembling a large ugly sausage or a parasitic creature out of a horror movie hanging off of you. I came home one day from cutting with one of them hanging off my ear lobe like it was some sort of ornament, the wife completely freaked out.

Plus, where they latch on to you itches for at least 3 days (after you nuke the bastard with a load of salt). I pick up extra packets of salt when I stop by McDonalds for a cup of coffee.

When you bathe, use Irish spring bar soap. The original green one. The ticks cant stand the scent.
Got some to try.

The blue still works but not as well as the original green. I like the blue over the green as it doesnt leave your skin so dry.

This is what you want for maximum protection!download (1).jpg

Next to my bench at the shop, Oregon
It's been over 100 here in Southern Oregon, hell even when I go outside from the shop to test equipment they seem to not like to run. haha Yesterday it was 113 outside........everything I tuned ran fine for awhile...but then it seems like the carbs were vapor locking. Just to dang hot.

The inland valleys of NorCal and SoOre are cooking, it is 67 here, go 15 miles east to find highs 90s, another 20 miles east are 110+

My blood is thin from getting old and living on the coast, don't care for being hot, wasn't always that way.

I hate ticks,
I used that same product a few months back helping cut a ditch bank off. Qt size was only good for 2 changes of clothes but it got me through that job.
Other guy that was cutting with me had ticks on him every day, I didn't have a one.

I bought the industrial strength (36.8%) later and mix 2-3 oz/ gal of water and soak clothes in it, wring out and let dry. Good for 6 or so washings.
Where do you find the industrial strength stuff?

Damn ticks actually get worse in the fall up here. I can't go hunting without spotting one on my leg or something.
