I do not know when many folks pass away. My father used to watch the obituaries in the paper. Sometimes he would tell me and sometimes he would not. I need to watch the radio websites as they generally have them.
I went to see an older woman that worked at a trailer park where I did the drinking water disinfection. Drove to her farm and the animals were gone and the house was torn up. Looked her up and died two years ago. A lot of the people I know weren’t mutual friends of anyone or local so you find out too late. I had a friend pass and his evil wife didn’t have the decency to reach out to any of us. Her goal was to isolate him as much as possible.

Returned to my husky 353 project for a bit. In the lasted episode, id tried to do vac/pressure test and it wouldn't hold anything. No leak down because it wouldn't hold at all. So, today i applied constant pressure from the compressor and sprayed soapy water at the seals. No bubbles. Then I noticed a gentle breeze from the flywheel side of the base gasket. Perfect! The base gasket and the intake are getting replaced anyway, i can move on.

Went to pressure wash the engine preparatory to pulling the jug, and the pressure washer wouldn't work. Then the compressor wouldn't work, so im suspecting an electrical problem in the house. By then i was hot, tired, and having back pain, so i called it a morning. I suppose Monday I'll have to pretend to be an electrician for a while.

Picked up a high performance Honda hs80 snow relocator machine the other day for a few beans. Motor purrs like a kitten. All the bearings are tight. Tracks are in awesome shape which is usually the deal breaker on these as they're NLA from Honda and good used is usually a few hundred for the pair. Reverse didn't work but that turned out to be just a couple adjustments with the friction system and shifter. Chute turning rod/handle, brackets and gear are missing but found an entire setup on ebay for $40 shipped. Changed the engine oil, gearbox oil, greased a bunch of crap, installed a Drainzit oil drain line and fluid filmed some rusty spots. Works like new now. Should be a good machine for my needs.

I cleaned up around my mill, loaded a couple bundles of ties on my trailer for delivery tomorrow, bucked a few logs down to 12’ and sawed 3 of them in 1x6s for an order. Gotta get another 75 sawed hopefully this week sometime.

When my aunt on my mothers side died no one told us. My mother knew but said nothing and never went to the funeral. When her last brother died she called me just to say he had died. I asked about funeral arrangements and she said she did not know and did not care as she was too busy. I knew he had done some prearrangements so a family friend and I met with the funeral director the next day. As we were figuring out a day and time for service we called and put her on speaker phone. It was amazing to listen to the excuses she had. In the end she agreed to show up. We just did a 2 hour visitation followed by the service. There were only about 12 people there

I’m sick from Covid, allergies or whatever webMD says so I knocked off work. The element didn’t close with armrests, the passenger seat if missing the armrest mount on the frame. I pulled the seats and console yesterday but had to run back to the yard for one piece. I have almost seven hours in the yard run, swap and figuring out what needs changing and making a few parts. Got carpet in the front to replace the lumpy rubber floor. I got all black dash pieces and probably most of the gray interior is getting changed. The gray seat was almost spotless but they are impossible to keep clean. Beats going to work. I need to get and armrest cover and clean the seats but I’m beat for the day. image.jpg

I went to the hospital this morning for "bloodwork". The woman checking me in said..."well this will take awhile to prep".... When I got into the room the nurse had (13) vials laid out. I might as well had donated blood while I was there.

They take two vials and that’s enough. I’m supposed to get tested for my thyroid but they’ve been letting me stretch it out to every two years

Worked til 5 and then finished up some things today so I can play tomorrow. Big wood pile close to home where they cleared a wooded lot. Saw a lot of firewood guys sweating it out there last weekend so I’m going to lend a hand by testing these.IMG_6898.jpeg

Nobody was out there cutting today, not too disappointed though, it gave me a chance to focus on tuning the saws. I probably would have talked it up for a while. The wood in the piles was some tough stuff. Fun times.
