That's a hell of a stump. That's about a D5-6 sized machine
Very good for that dozer. I used to run a Dresser Td25 and Td40. 25 was a great machine, the 40 not so good.

25's are much loved by old time operators. I know of a couple companies that keep one around,"That's the old man's machine".
I used to have a gas over diesel TD-6. That old piece surprised me a bunch.

Everybody loved it. The 40 just wasn't as well built in my opinion. I remember the tractor turning about a foot inside the push arms before the blade moved, when the tranny wasn't blown. Which was often.

Yeah, they pushed it out. Same way with Allis's 40. They did make Cat better. The 24/25 made them build the D9.

Best I recall, both dozers shared the same engine, just tuned up a bit on the 40. Both engines always ran well.

817 in the 25 for sure. I'm thinking V800 in the 40 but I'm not sure haven't been around any like 25's and 250's.

The 1st pic is pine chips for producing pulp to make linerboard and the 2nd pic is hog fuel bark to make steam
I thought it looked like chips. That is sweet dozer job. I use to push big rocks over smaller rocks at a coal mine. Beats your teeth out by the end of a day.

Pretty smooth pushing on my end as we keep a grade either building or tearing down for reclaim. Its pretty hard on the dozer in this summer heat as pine sap builds on the radiators and hardens, overheats the dozer, which in turn gets the transmissons. 40000$ to rebuild tranny and 15000 for new radiators. We push to the tune of 485 tons per/hr. In a 8 hr shift and about 100 gallons of diesel
