Here we have a harvester that will come to your farm and process the animal on-site. It is nice when you have a crazy bastard that you cannot get in. Years ago we were bringing the cow-calf pairs up to the barn in the Fall to wean and sort them. There was a bull calf that just went plum nuts in the lot. He scaled a tall gate and went out into the pasture. We tried with no success to get him back up. He spent the next 9 months out in the pasture thinking he was free. Well we had other plans..... We scheduled the on-farm processor to come out the next summer and end his freedom. For the next nine months when Dad rode through the pasture that SOB would high-tail it away. When harvesting day came I figured I would have to take a long shot to drop him so I took along the 30-30. The processor arrived and Dad explained the situation. The guy had a 17HMR and I thought "oh yeah". Well he and Dad started out to the back of the pasture on the 4-wheeler. My son and I had the loader tractor and the 30-30. When we got back there my Dad says "We're done, the SOB never even got up from under the shade tree"

Winter-shoed the family vehicles.
Power washed the summer tires, have to wrap and store them.

Ground my now dedicated 115DL milling chain & took it from 25° to 20° .
I will get it to 10° every other grind at a time.
I need to set the rakers, not tonight though.

Changed wheels, dressed the thinner one and ground the RH cutters of two 3/8"LP 40DL and one .325" 66DL.
Gonna do the LH cutters tomorrow.



That far left 3/8"Picco loop is a Stihl full chisel, courtesy of Sondre @SOS Ridgerider - it serves me very well on my 36Volt battery powered Makita UC250D.

Sounds like a pain! Sounds like a band saw mill could be your friend.

A circle Mill with a 3406 cat pulling it you can get several thousand ft sawed in a day.

Did some more to the carry all but have run into a problem. The timber floor is 5ft X 3ft X 1" thick completely dry stringy bark. It weighs 99lbs. It's pretty much the same weight as the steel work.

I can add steel support to the frame and make the floor out of sheet metal and save half the weight or keep it as the timber. Not sure what I'll do yet

Recently started aluminum tig the other day after doing a bunch of steel, just practising using the foot pedal, getting consistent heat, stepping distance and penetration. I enjoy both, but aluminum looks sexy.



And my first, fairly average fillet weld…

A bit cold but sexy looking, maybe an extra 10amps here would have been about right. The fillet weld behind was done by someone else with I think he said a spool gun?
