Heelers can and do get swimmers tail very easy, if you are going to have a lake dog docking the tail will eliminate the pain it causes. The main reason Heelers tails are docked is to keep them from being stepped on by livestock. A lot of people think it hurts their balance when docked, it most certainly doesn’t…
Never had one get it's tail stepped on.

That is typically the least concern of a Heeler that comes from working parents or a working bloodline.

I had one that came from working parents and could not jump through a tube gate. Another that came from the Amish and it could jump, twist itself sideways in mid-air, and go right through

Finished harvest 2024 with the last of the test plot corn. We use the seed tender on one end and a formal weigh wagon on the other to speed things up. We did 28 test strips in all this year. It is always a big PITA but is time well spent as we get great data out of it.

I had to babysit today. I’ve learned just because you can rent an excavator doesn’t mean you should. The idea is to locate and remove the lines, stick your tanks to see whats in them then remove the tanks. I think this is the seek and destroy method.

How much? It’s around $1700 around here for basic cuts.
$1625. Cow was 650# hang weight @ $5/#. That’s the average price around here. The other half went to a friend. We got a $.50/# discount buying the whole cow 😀
This is a Highland rather than the usual Angus. Local, small ranch animal, local butcher.
I’ll get a pig from them probably next spring.

Started milling some wood for the carryall. I'm sick of milling dry hardwood, there has to be a better way than punishing bars, chains and saws. Might try the 3rd world way of free hand milling tomorrow, maybe they are onto something

Sounds like a pain! Sounds like a band saw mill could be your friend.
