Yep. It's a whole new, impersonal world out there. Online applications, Resumes, LinkedIn profile, and computer programs that read your resume for keywords, or specific skills. Been looking for the first time since 1991.........what a cluster phucque.
I got out of college in '87. They actually told us don't write your resume or cover letter on a word processor or use cheap computer type paper to write them on. NEVER use email or send a floppy.Five years later my best friend got his first job out of Engineering school dropping his resume in some guys online mailbox.

It is a public holiday day today here so most folks are off work. I could have done a few things being self employed but i got some gardening done instead. Planted tomato seedlings into the borders in My Greenhouse . Like the small Cherry ones in a mixed salad ...Broad beans ( think you call them "Fava"beans ) planted out to.

Got home from work, was gonna go cut some wood had everything loaded and ready. My little girl asked if she could have a popsickle and it was a juice sickle. That put the end to cutting wood. $700 bucks later i got a new freezer. What a kicknin the pants. Now im sitting around cooking some of the food that started unthawing.

Picked my car up from the shop. Hit a pretty big pot hole the other day and it was making bad noises. Did in my front suspension completely, had brakes done while there and $1500 later my plans for getting another saw ported are going to be delayed.

Oh and our property tax bill will be in the mail box Monday and still no Two Idiots T-shirts...

Got 3 more, my wife has put up a tally sheet in the kitchen to keep track.
We had a mouse invasion once and in a 48 hour period caught over 20 of them. It was in a cupboard in the house so when I heard the traps snap we reset them. They ate all the labels off all the canned goods... That was in MI.

Had an apartment in college that was attached to a horse barn. Mouse stories:
1)Found a fresh loaf of bread with a tunnel eaten through it long ways.
2)Came back from the bar. Roommate stayed home to study, didn't say a word just pointed a shaky finger at the kitchen island. " Number six this evening, and he's still alive".
3) Set five traps at night before bed. Turn out the lights,go to bed and lay there counting snaps. After five, get up,dispose of mice ,reset traps and go back to bed.
4) This is when it ceased to be funny. Cutest little rock n roll blond you ever saw,"Was that a mouse that just run under your bed"? Me,"Mouse, what mouse"?..........End of evening.

Pumped a few hundred gallons of water out of my pool and then power washed it. Hydrostatic valve shut off, time to fill it.

I wish we had a concrete pool. Ours is a vinyl liner (typical of all pools around here). When I opened yesterday I discovered a loose liner, can't tell if it's air or water underneath it. Filled and started it circulating, we'll see what kind of shape it's in in a few days.

Also used an old 2 stroke gas powered de-thatcher that my neighbor brought over when he saw me using a manual rake.

Today I picked up around the yard. Started getting ready to cut some grass but then it started raining.
Hopefully I'll get the lawn cut tomorrow.

Finished up my 066 muffler mod and then tidied up around the shop a bit.
Starred at my saws for a bit thinking about what saw I should add to the mess next and thinking about how nice it would be to have a lathe.

Used a Marvin pole saw on a couple of high cuts from a roof, pruned some trees, pulled a few small stumps with the truck and a chain, raked, patched a leak in our metal roof, did a rear brake job on a friends van, ate pizza. currently vegging.

Had a new jet installed Thursday, the wall of the pool is 12" thick.

Went down to Big Rapids and watched the daughter's boyfriend play 3 baseball games. On the way home her Cobalt started overheating. Removed the thermostat with a 10mm wrench and it was good to go. Sure could have used a socket, ratchet, and extension.
