Cleaned out exhaust, removed spark arrestor, rebuilt the carb, new fuel filter and reconnected the impulse line. She *f-wording rips now, the roars out of her are unreal.
Have two leylandiis to cut for someone tomorrow be a good test of it.

I haven't done cement work for 25 years. Sidewalk was settled toward the house and had some spalling. Also some uneven joints. Ow. Now I remember why I didn't do cement work.

Great job!
I worked with a great Construction/Cement professional in the PRIME of my youth in the summer of 1982.

After 1 month, I had developed a new level of honor and appreciation for that craft and ALL who do it!

Update on the 020t. Its running and cutting great now! It absolutely flies through timber.
It was cutting out at idle at first but after leaning out the low screw a little it's idles fine.
It did seem to need to be choked every time I started it after only being switched off for ten mins. But that could be because it was a cool, windy day and I was only firing it up to do thirty seconds of cutting at a time and then leaving it switched off for ten minutes at least.

That reminds me I have to fix the regulator on my 2008 skoda octavia. The passenger side window is permanently down, not good with the level of rainfall here.

Keep the old girl (car not wife) on the road. I went to an auction Saturday for my neighbors estate. They had a 1998 3/4 ton 4x4 ext cab, shortbed Chevy with a 454 in it. The truck was in great shape with 60,000 miles. It sold for around $13,000

There is a 1995 F150 4x4 with 56,000 miles on a online auction ending Thursday it is sitting at $17,500 now.

My 461 wasn't running right the last day.
About half way through the day I could hear an unusual rattle every time the saw started to rev up or rev down. I put it down to the felling spikes coming loose, which the had done.
Then, later on, the saw would conk out as soon as I let the throttle off but run and cut fine at full throttle.
Today I took the air filter off and reset the low jet and it started and idled lean. The max flow filter was dirty on the inside and there were oily fines on the metal intake thing between the air filter and the carb. Maybe I didn't apply enough filter oil to the filter?
Anyway, upon removing the exhaust I discovered a large chunk of the piston gouged out between the two rings.
I lifted the cylinder and miraculously it was totally fine bar one small but deep gouge to the left of the exhaust port looking in from the exhaust port. There's also a tiny dent on the top of the piston but no matching dent on the cylinder so I doubt the bearings collapsed.

What are my options? Buy a piston and chance the original cylinder? Or replace both?
I know a man who recently rushed his own 461 with a digger but apparently the engine and case are fine. He might sell it me for scrap.
