Cranked up all my saws, they have been setting for a while.

I'm not good at identifying trees
All I can say is it's hard I tryed noodling a piece to big to load and my husqvarna 450 rancher could do it so I loaded it any way by handLooks like walnut with a lot of sapwood.
Yes that is what it looked like splitWalnut is not especially hard. This is one I milled with a lot of sapwood like the firewood pictured.

They say no good deed goes unpunished. Sometimes I agree.Spent big money early morning. Cousin smoked a deer called for help, grabbed trailer, rescue mission. Both daughters and wife with him coming from a wedding. Picked him up, no entrance ramp, unless you went towards town. Would have been nice to know that, needed to turn around and backed into drainage ditch. Had to have rotator truck lift trailer and car out.
