I was at an auction yesterday and a guy gave me a bent crowbar for free. About 3 minutes of effort got it back into working order. Unfortunately, my broom handle is too thin to be rescued.

Almost all of those have a standard thread on the handle. Just find a broom, mop, etc that's in poor shape and rob the handle off of it...

Today I was filling fuel cans in case Ian comes up this way in a significant fashion. I probably have 30 gas cans and I filled them all. They vary from 1 to 6 gallons. Well, actually Groundi filled them and I put the caps off and on. I just had surgery and have restrictions that keep me from doing anything useful. I've been sorting out misc hardware on the dining room table the last couple days.

Also took down a dead and ugly birch. Waiting for winter to take down two more and around 8 dead spruced affected by "eight-toothed spruce bark beetle", very big problem with those around here.
