I'm more interested in keeping a vehicle functional than anything else, it doesn't have to look perfect. The paint on the new hood is in good shape and semi-close to the rest of the truck so I'm going to leave it as is.

About 10yr ago I smashed a big deer with my work car. Surprisingly I had comp. The ins company totaled it and I bought it back for $850. Needed a complete front clip a rim and some other smalls. I wasn't going to pay 3500-4000 at the body shop for a 96 grand prix. So I waited until the junkyard had a crusher coming. And drove it looking like a methead ride. Ended up buying everything I needed and then some for $100 bill. Add in $50 for some napa msu paint and it looked new again for a few years until it shat the trans and went back to the junkyard.

bought a cheap HF workbench yesterday. killing time before work so I "polished" the exhaust, block sanded the ex flange, cleaned up the intake & gave the bevels a once over on the mmws cylinder.

home from work to find another box of goodies on the porch, also picked up a keyless drill chuck to mount the timing wheel on.

The Panavise 350 is for cylinders & I'm going to make a bar mount for the Panavise 400 instead of having to flop saws around on the bench. I also have a 1/4" handpiece on the way for the flex grinder.

down another rabbit hole I go...
