Probably a pin oak. Field border? I've took out a couple three footers that only counted up to 60-70 years old. They grow fast branchy like that also.

I would assume pin oak this one is over 100 for sure my gramp said in his day they always admired it an said there's nuff lumber in it to build a big house yes field border I'd guess close to 5 foot at base above the sump center rotted out after those lightning strikes

I threw this monster on my splitter and broke the Lovejoy.

Not really. I mess with my wife because she throws my smalls in the pile and I split them. (6"-8") So I sent her this picture.

Today I learned the differences in carb cleaners. At work, we use Berkebile 2+2 and it's so flammable, it's our go-to starter fluid. At home today I tried to give an old Gravely L a little 'get up & go' with Auto Zone branded carb cleaner and flooded it. Turns out I could hold a lit butane lighter in front of the stream and it wouldn't catch fire.

If the L needed help...something is off. I strap start all of my L's so I keep them timed correct and carbs in good order. Rarely more than 3 pulls, even on a cold morning. Most of the time one even if its been sitting weeks.

I put an ignition switch in my 5665 Gravely today.

The L needed carb work and instead of dragging it uphill, I was going to walk it with the spray. My 5645 was my 1st Gravely & its in the middle of an engine swap.

Started the day early with some paperwork and reading and then started in on projects. Spent a little time in the hangar sorting through some parts, cut a bunch of aluminum tubing to get the fittings off, ran those through the USC, fixed a Husky 141 recoil issue and got that back to the owner, put a carb on an MS660 and cut some wood with it, Got an F-10 Jacobsen fairway mower started and off the trailer, tested it to see what's wrong with it. (2 reels not working, no brakes, missing ignition key, broken alternator, etc), loaded up three wheelbarrows full of cookies and delivered them to the back patio for Groundi to burn, had kinfolk over for dinner, shopped online for airplane tires, etc. Now I'm resting.
