Just ordered my new 451C from Madsens. The gentleman said it would come with a predressed blue ceramic wheel. Looking forward to getting this kicked off and i read this thread end to end in prep. I cant wait.
Congrats.
Lots to learn, but many of the principles are similar going from round to square. I see guys have issues getting the wheels(dressers) set up.
Look forward to seeing some of your cutters.

Better or down even more? View attachment 288627
It looks to me that you have a lot of top beak, as your sideplate is sticking far forward of your corner. Once you get the corner where it needs to be it'll be easier to see. I'd also look into thinning your wheel a touch, which has already been mentioned.

I want to see the chain on the 194. I’ve never considered trying to grind a chain that small, well, I guess I have considered it but I didn’t think it would work.

Funny, as square really shines in the canopy. Cleaner wood and precision cuts are more critical. And the square will hold its profile longer..Stihls "triangle" file will fit nice in the smaller gullets.

Played around with the grinder this morning. Wanted to set it up for a durable grind. Yes, yes, I know it’s a Vanguard chain. Lol. It’s one of three chains I have for checking angles and grinds when I make adjustments.

I have a Husqvarna branded Vanguard chain that cuts very well. I was actually surprised that it kept up with LGX and Stihl RS chain.
That cutter looks mean...
