Being the wrong shape and ugly is every reason to tinker with it. Look at mastermind now making s living grinding ports. Thats *f-wording pointless oems got it as good as it can be right.

Hell tgerez expansion chamber on my 2024 kx450 head pipe. Whood a thunk it on a 4 stroke but some guy in his garage.

You guys should read on the ford 300 6 those guys racing that old tractor motor was a great time in automotive history. Similar to when master mind started pointlessly grinding on cylinders.

Now its common knowledge reliable power gains can easily be made. And guys will be fighting the exhaust till the end of time. But that one guy may find something that takes the chainsaw world by the balls.

Everyone will be wondering why i didnt think of that

Today we have beautiful female creatures felling trees with 500i's in the forest and guys in pajamas and flip flops cutting cookies in theyre back yard with no use for a chainsaw in theyre lives.

I think its a good place to be.

I have no real experience with these straight pipes specifically. But I have ported a couple 039s and opened up the hole straight out the front of the muffler. And then one day I completely gutted the muffler and opened up the front the same way. Without gutting the cage, the saw liked to rev higher but didn’t have much torque. Once I gutted the cage completely out of the muffler, that 039 sounded just like an 044. Cut times were very similar but now I also could lean on it harder.

Maybe that is the only way they can get some big hard wood nowadays since the guys are too busy picking out pajama & flipflop combos!

Also, they might have noticed some good vibrations coming of the MS500i.

Even though she's curvy and maybe ugly doesn't mean she doesn't have all the right parts to have fun

More than once I’ve thought that guys like chainsaws for similar reasons that gals like horses.

The only thing I've ever got paint to stay on is the clutch cover on my 372 when the new saw started coming out with silver covers I painted mine silver and it felt like it was a new saw. And now it's lasted for like 5 years

And to get back on topic no I highly doubt the tree felling goddess is on this forum

First cuts. Runs great but exhaust is heating my hand when against log. Will swap to pipe muffler right away.

Both mufflers. Gutted with deflector is i think alittle louder. Bouth a single 1" outlet. Deflector muffler might be slightly more though

This motor will live on forever.
In the 70s guys welded two Cleveland headeds together and did all kinds of things im sure most thought would never work.

Hell why dont we have supercharged or turbod chainsaws we got guys building little turbos and superchargers for rc cars.

Can you imagine .5psi in the cut holding 14k with a 32" . Chainsaw saws are now becoming popular and cool to younger crowd so no telling what the next 15 years brings

Flip flop pajama wearing types having axcess now to machinist tools and computer programs will dream up the future while the master minds plug away doing what they do best, grinding.

Tinker on is all im saying

You can't effectively boost a piston ported 2 stroke. You need valves in the engine or the boost just goes out the exhaust. Go watch 2strokestuffing on youtube. I saw some nasty little 4 stroke chainsaw on the tubes the other day, you could in theory turbo that.

I havent a clue what you can and cant do. But i do the cant do this that mentality is pushed pretty hard at times by the older than 50 crowd.
Some in there50s are acceptable to new ideas those in theyre 60s are lost if they cant buy the toilet paper theyve been buying for the last 40 years
Yes a boosted 4 stroke would be cool. Turbos are starting to pop up on 450 timbersleds
