Clutch side view of saw, with muffler mounted. But no bar & chain mounted.
The outlet deflector (right side edge, in picture) seems to have three little tabs on the edge of the opening.

Gotcha. That is the original Husqvarna outlet that I removed and then brazed back on after removing the baffle underneath. I'm not sure why they put those little tabs on there.

That muffler, despite being completely hollow inside, is pretty quiet. I don't know if the tabs do anything.

Your pipe mod is a wise move. When I scrapped the OEM catalyst mufflers on both of my 2511s and replaced them with Egan pipes, I realized a giant improvement in power, tunability, idle, restarting. As a consequence my respect of these little buggers jumped way up.
I get to climb and prune 3 very massive ponderosas tomorrow. Many of the limbs will max out the 12" guide bars on the Echos. I can't wait; it's going to be fun.
