I blocked off the one factory outlet so it wont blow on the clutch side and turn it any browner. Dam stihl are bad for that lol.

Good idea. I hate the burn marks on the cases too.

Humble mod, works nicely for me and my PS-7900.

BEFORE


Uncrimp cold with side cutter pliers (works nicely, left crimp at an angle under 90° for easier recrimping)


Enlarge all existing holes and ad a few more (I didn't want to remove the birdcage entirely)


Put together and recrimp.
AFTER

Here's one I did on Dustin 7300. Split with pliers and map gas. Removed everything inside and port matched to the ex port then added a second port.

The genius behind this has declared that this “keeps the benefit of the scavenging deal in the muffler”. He has a pretty sweet thread goin on it right now on AS. Same guy had a thread about putting a sparkplug in the decomp hole of a saw....

It's actually not real bad once you do one. Using map gas instead of propane really helped to speed things up.
