Show off your muffler mods

I get it at Menards…no, emt is just cheap galvanized conduit. Trying to braze galvanized is no good, so I machine it off and thin the wall a bit.

My lathe would be a drill and a belt sander

They kinda suck. I reach in through the inlet with a long burr and put as big of a window in the mid-baffle as I can

So, you haven’t tried cutting one apart?
I’ve done that with others but can’t tell if the two tubes are braised at both ends

Might just do that. I can use a hole saw or fine burr on one side to free up the tubes and then weld back together.

What is the diameter pipe is it? Looks like stainless to me? I like the thin wall, I have issues finding thin wall.

About 1" od. Metric though. Yes stainless steel.

Husky 359 muff mods…
So, what are folks doing with these? Looking inside there is all sorts of baffles, a pipe and God knows what else. I’m tempted to cut it in half, gut and re-weld but if the bolt tubes are well braised at both ends it may not com apart.
Thoughts?

Years ago I just added a side port and called it good

I cut a pipe diagonally and add to the clutch side of the muffler. I can open a large hole in the side of the muffler that the pipe covers, and position it so the hole I cut is on both side of the divider. Then I can also take a piece out of the divider to let it flow better. Very simple.

Where do you get the tube? Stainless?

If you want SS, McMaster sells it by the foot.
