Gotta load vids onto a server (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive maybe) and then share them hereSometimes it works well, and easily, sometimes not.
Actually sounds like a big Husky now
Tried a video but this site doesn't like my files...mp4
Looks good! I can’t take credit for the mod though. I think it was @Mastermind who posted about the 395 mufflers a few years ago.
We cut a hole in the top....then pull the guts out that way.Looks good! I can’t take credit for the mod though. I think it was @Mastermind who posted about the 395 mufflers a few years ago.
That makes sense as all the braising is to the roof of the thing. We cut a hole in the top....then pull the guts out that way.
Excellent work! I bet she growls!
What is the diameter pipe is it? Looks like stainless to me? I like the thin wall, I have issues finding thin wall.
eBay…but, pricy. What is the diameter pipe is it? Looks like stainless to me? I like the thin wall, I have issues finding thin wall.
I will take a look, thanks for the info!eBay…but, pricy.
Fine work my friend. Smooth cut on the muffler as well!I use 1” emt conduit and cut the OD down in the lathe….dirt cheap. Here is one of them before brazing & paint.View attachment 450173
Where do you get the tube? Stainless?I use 1” emt conduit and cut the OD down in the lathe….dirt cheap. Here is one of them before brazing & paint.View attachment 450173
I get it at Menards…no, emt is just cheap galvanized conduit. Trying to braze galvanized is no good, so I machine it off and thin the wall a bit.Where do you get the tube? Stainless?
They kinda suck. I reach in through the inlet with a long burr and put as big of a window in the mid-baffle as I canHusky 359 muff mods…
So, what are folks doing with these? Looking inside there is all sorts of baffles, a pipe and God knows what else. I’m tempted to cut it in half, gut and re-weld but if the bolt tubes are well braised at both ends it may not com apart.
Thoughts?
I have 2 to do.
Years ago I just added a side port and called it good![]()
