The tree guys up here are saving them and spruce now for me to make lumber now that I have a band mill. I hope your feeling a bunch better
Same here. 1 they make good framing and finishing lumber, 2 they are the softest tree to cut around so easy to chainsaw mill, 3 they’re the only trees that can grow to any diameter worthy of sawlog since most spruces blow over(I’m right on the coast, windy) and rarely reach 2ft dia. Many 3 footers around, usually a crown grown into a bush by then because they have been the tallest standing tree there for so long.

We added a banana scent to our fuel once for a gtg. Bad idea. That stuff lingered for months.
