@Cat 525 solved that dilemma for me, talk about well packaged. Must have used a mile of packing tape, good thing I have a sharp knife.

I was expecting a nice Collins double bit axe very similar to one I already own.

Instead I get this beautiful old Plumb with what appears to the the original handle, a good bit more stout than my Collins, what a great surprise it must have been hard to part with this one.

My dad built his cordwood cabin with an 041 35 years ago. He still has it but it needs a lot of love. It will go on the bench sooner or later. We are building his 046 now.
