So how much is a 32x60 slab with heat? 15,000?

Even if you don't fire up the infloor heat to start with its there when your ready. It's the way to go.

I have preped for a pad with in floor heat. the expense is the pex, plastic staples and foam backer board. I'd be able to help navigated the install if mark wants to put the tubing in. If you run multiple loops you can always close several of them to allow shop to "idle heat" without letting a shop freeze if you'll be out for a while. It helps use less fuel but keep the floor lines from freezing.

Is pad size changing? I guess we assumed the pad was getting replaced but Mark hasn't indicated that's the case... Mark did call me about a wood boiler so I think he might be aiming that direction???

Once concrete is heated it holds the heat very well. The pex staples and foam are the killer but the end result is worth the upfront cost. I helped my friend do his new shop and also added a hot water heater in the old shop. The 200k btu hot water heater is also run off his central boiler and works well.

Pad is not gettin replaced. There are a few bad spots ,but I have tapped around them ,seems to be good.
I have talked to couple of people that say they make concrete epoxy with fiberglass fibers in it that works well so goin to try that.Wash it well, acid etch it and apply.
Prolly goin wood boiler this time.

If the concrete is sound and you do a thorough deep cleaning with the acid etching the epoxy will work very well.

I've been involved in the cleaning and etching but never applied the epoxy. In my old workplace we cleaned etched and epoxied a 30 year old big truck shop floor about 5 years ago. I was somewhat skeptical when we did it but it still looks great today.

So they did the whole floor. Depending on price I may do that. I was just fixing holes.

I've got a gas powered 3500 psi power washer with a big turbo nozzle on it. They seem to work the best for penetrating and cleaning concrete. You are more then welcome to it if needed. I will be coming through your area next week sometime as one of my big machines is in a shop few miles east of Deep River getting repair work completed on it.

Mark if you decide to do epoxy on the floor let me know I will donate enough to do your shop.

Product made in US, actually here in KC. Check out Tnemec this is the same stuff that's on my
shop floor and it has held up Great! By the way Tnemec came from the word Cement spelled backwards just a little useless information.
