Ring was whole. Broken piston was sanded. You can see the funny sanding patterns

scattered that one this summer. Logger used. Logger abused, was still a great saw up until it grenaded. It had a few million feet on it.

Jeepers give that thing it's decade old first bath.... !!!!

I would try to tap with an M( or the next size up) and use that. It's not a critical stress point(holding plastic cover down)
To the hole as it is M 5,5 mm drill , M 6 tap and M6 screw with a drop of loctite ( blue )
To the hole as it is full it with JBweld leave it dry well then M4 drill M 5 tap and M5 screw

Easiest saw you'll ever rebuild. You'll never touch one a dem stinky hooskies after building such a well deserved piece of machinery as an MS 660...

Are we talking about an MS 660 ?

Yeah but on husqvarnas you take the four screws of the cylinder and you can take off the cylinder the muffler the intake and the carb all together in one go

I have a 394 and a 395 and love them but I'm in hardcore stihl country. The biggest stihl distributer in the country perhaps the world is in town so you either work there shipping stihls or your on the hillside running one, there's nothing else to do.

IMG_20160204_195447.jpg IMG_20160204_195652.jpg IMG_20160204_200026.jpg Muffler outlet mod. Is it worth the effort to remove the baffle on a non ported saw or just open up internally?
