@Woodpecker chopped that tree down. He could chime in on where it falls in the hard scale.

Haha hard enough to demo a chain link dog run:tiburon:

The saw looks very impressive that was some dense wood. It took everything a dolmar 9010 gave it.

Locust is some hard $hit for sure. Hickory typically gets ranked as the hardest domestic tree, but there are many exotics that are harder. Our friends down under have to deal with some pretty tough trees.

In other words Joe is torture testing these hybrids in some of the hardest wood anyone in the US is likely to find. I'm impressed and I don't impress easy.

Ima have to break the chaps out, it was still 4 stroking pretty well. Even with the baby carb...

The main nozzle that floods the 60cc version, dosent seem the bother these big boys.. can lean out plenty far.

Guess we will see how the hda feeds 92cc..

If your four-stroking there the flood carb is, helping?

I may be wrong as this is a 2019 model carb and I have not pulled the cover to inspect.

All of the carbs I have used on the 60cc version had a hole in the nozzle that would bypass fuel even with the h all the way closed.

The carb could pump more fuel than the saw could provide air for.

Well add 19, and 26cc that air flow isn't an issue anymore.

This is hard maple, according to this chart it is a good bit harder than the oaks, cherry, ash etc..

Not a good race wood...
No not at all we got some pretty good size maple around here still but just like all the pines there slowly getting small don't get me wrong we still have a lot of trees but all the big ones are gone now most are 30" at the base but there's still some around over 40" at the base but those aren't going anywhere I can still get some maple that can be around 36" you definitely need a good chain and used to sharpening them darn things have all sorts of stuff in them sparks will fly when you less expect it. Lol

Last Hard Maple sisters I cut were so compressed, with 1/4" rebar and chain link fence still in the center bark, amazing it does not rot away. Base was 4ftx5ft. One side is over thirty inches from the pith. The others is eight maybe nine. Hardest wood in America, period. I'll get pics. It ate three chains, RS 3/8" 105dl full, RS 404 167dl full skip, Oregon H 404 117dl full. Badassery dirty wood.

An upper right second log 13ft.

Twenty four inch red oak to the right six feet away. Eleven foot sisters they were when loaded up. We had to cut off the flair to lift them. One chain one cut, all done. Split it in half on the ground. Super heavy wood!

Very cool trees to bad people use them to hold there fences up instead of just going around them or drive big spikes in them for tree houses makes it tuff to make a beautiful table out of one when you have to deal with stuff like that. Lol

In this case the juice will be worth the squeeze. Their also quilted and spalted a bit. Should be odd grain and cool colors in them.
