Went to the post office. They can't help me, package isn't there yet. Called the Farmingdale NY post office. They can't help me, the package was there but now isn't there anymore. ....therefore we have to wait until it turns up somewhere.

This is the message on the post office site:

"The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. An updated delivery date will be provided when available. The item is currently in transit to the destination as of September 19, 2017 at 9:21 am. It is on its way to FARMINGTON, CT 06032."

is anyone actually convinced that its "on its way to" my place?

this package was supposed to be the balance of the rods, and a bunch of freshly reamed sleeves so I could just box up the whole shoot in 5 minutes to anyone that wanted one. ie, the holy grail box.... the crux of everything.

oh, PS, called customer affairs.... AGAIN..... they don't take live calls, they call me back. so who knows when I'll hear from them, but the last phone call I had with them over the rods that are still missing didn't end particularly well

i'm not convinced UPS is any better.

and ...I have never had this much trouble with usps. I can count on one hand, how many packages in the last 10-15 years have had some type of issue.

now, I have one package that came to me empty, another came to a customer empty (likely my fault...i'll do better next time), the "return to sender" issue that took 5 weeks, and now a package that is literally missing, except for the fact that they won't admit that. all within the span of a few months.

I really hate that the US chose to use Imperial JUST because we didn't want to be like the British (who used the same measuring units as the rest of the world). It's also why we (and everyone else) drinks coffee instead of tea. We have a strange way of trying to prove we aren't British. Strangely, we continued to speak English, but I hear more and more Spanish being spoken these days.

Agreed on the postal system -- if they would privatize it the problems could be solved. Since its a government entity they get away with all kinds of crap.
In my opinion its one of those systems that basically has been left to itself. If you have a problem, it is rarely resolved.
I've had more problems shipping with them than you can shake a stick at.

As of 10am this morning it's out of the NY Metro post office and "on its way to Farmingdale CT"

I'm just realizing how messed up this is. The ny metro scan in the distribution center is only a couple miles away from the origin post office....Farmingdale. so it literally took 5 days for it to go from the farmingdale post office to the metro distribution center in Bethpage ny.
