I have the sleeves ready to go.... from my end I'm ahead by a bit. I'm waiting on the rods, then I'll start moving the kits, then i'll buy more material. etc.

the tracking number says "out for delivery" .... so tonight i'll be sending a few emails :)

I just spent 6 days getting a package released from customs...they said they needed to know where the parts were manufactured. I mentioned that in the paperwork is said they were made in Germany. Lady said back 6 days later "ok I see it now". Good thing I sent them next day air as we needed them.

I sent a package of these tools to the UK, they ended up in customs, then they ended up with the ballistics experts... the looked too much like a gun receiver ... then the ballistics experts finally released them I guess. cost me $35 to ship, then another $28lb VAT .... and god knows ontop of that lol

Ok, so I'm frustrated on multiple levels. I can get my 5/8" super long drill bit through the small sleeves, but the rods are tight.

I've reamed out a few and shipped, but most of the sleeves are impossibly tight on the rods. I even broke my neighbors reamer trying to fix it.

Sleeves are going to Fred to figure out how badly I messed up. I may just order new small sleeves and start over. Part of the problem is that the tube I ordered had a 1/2" ID ... 1/4" wall. I need 5/8" ID ... so I drilled them out from both sides. Obviously there is some error there that seems to have gotten worse as I've gone along. Instead of just filling boxes now, I'm reaming each silly sleeve ...again... and it isn't working. On the large sleeves, the rods FALL through... no problem.

hopefully Fred to the rescue here......

so, for everyone I just sent emails to... PAUSE......

UGH

I have no patience for my own incompetence. ...or having the wrong tooling. Not sure what it is here....

But I've got too much time and $$ tied up in this for it to not work.

It's gotta work.

Sleeves are on their way to Fred.

Still, I orderd a 16mm drill bit on a recommendation from CJ from AS.

Problem is, the 16mm drill bits are not readily available in the USA. So I had to order from UK EBAY. ??????????????????

I can get the bits, but they are either short, or don't have a reducing shank. 5/8" too small, 41/64" too big. 16mm should be just right, but Lord knows!

Fred will fix the sleeves quick and I'll keep shipping out.

NEXT TIME i order sleeve blanks I'll try to order with an existing 5/8" ID ....

Dunno why you had to go to UK to find them, any machine specialist shop has them or can get them, even we dont got much UNC, UNF, and US standard in Norway there are many shops who get what we need ;)

There is a specialty tool shop not far from me.... even they said it was special order. I can get 16mm, but not long ones that have a reduced shank.
