As bad luck would have it The sleeves are still too tight so I spent this morning using my new 16mm drill bit to remount the sleeves even further and it was very very difficult But I was able to get three kits shipped this morning and I will have the rest of them shift tomorrow morning

What does the outside of the threaded rod mic out to? Crazy it won't slip through a 5/8 drilled hole in aluminum... I'm assuming the bores aren't straight and it hangs up mid way? How long are the sleeves?

This is exactly what you need for enlarging the sleeves. This is a 12 inch one but you can get very long ones as well. These won't follow an off center hole as readily as a twist drill will too. Not as good as a boring bar, but very fast and makes a nice round hole. Can even get them with Morse taper ends if you don't have a big enough drill chuck.

Hopefully this is all moot on the next batch....if I can find aluminum tube with 5/8" id with some good wall width...it'll be fine. ....but that is a cool drill

They do make .625 ID .250 wall thickness stuff. I'm not sure on the tolerances though.

I've been ordering from speedy metals....they seem to do a good job. Does Alcoa sell to the public? The issue is that ive got small orders....

Not sure Matt. I used to buy from a dealer a while back. I bet if you contact a local Alcoa dealer, open an account, they will sell to you if they have what your looking for.

Speedy isn't bad, but they are charging a premium. No industrial areas around you? I feel a bit spoiled sometimes that I can drive a mile and have my pick of what I need for bare supplies and tooling.

Well after a couple minutes of searching unless your ok with .120 wall thickness I don't think it's economical to buy the .250 wall stuff unless you can get it direct from the supplier. Your design is hitting a wall for off the shelf availability, amount of material used, number of steps and times it's handled vs what you can sell for. Just my outside looking in thought.
