Mike,
Do you ever get up this way? I'm working insane hours still but I'd take a peek at it if you wanted.

Just a little update, started working on it late today (had lots of other thing to take care of), the New OEM 460 pistons do not have notable machine marks, and the new & old pistons both measure the exact same diameter (2.35), so I think the old piston was just fine, but I will use the new piston and keep the old P&C as a set.
had a flywheel shear a key once.. became a *b-word to start.. but wouldnt.. give away was it backfiring thru the carb.Sounds like the timing is way off. I don't know how.
Not yet, but I got things on order, including a carb, coil and vac/pressure tester.
Tax Season has started so my time is very limited, but I will keep you guys posted.
Mike, get a plug, break off the strap so the spark has to jump from the center to the outer metal. This will tell you if you have strong spark.I take the plug out, reconnect the coil wire, take a wire w/alligator clips on both ends, attach one end to the bottom of the plug and the other end to the engine block, go to a dimly lit room, and pull.
I spoke to someone today who told me that sometimes the coils mess up on their timing, so just because it is producing a spark does not mean it is still good. This could explain a lot!
