You sure it ain't just sealed to the base real well? Don't stick anything in the ports and pry just yet. Is the saw locked up?
Not enough threads to double nut. In fact the threads don't even go through on nutWhat Dave said...... Double nut the studs and remove them.
Probly have to poke in through the ports with a Dremel and clean up any burrs. Jug should come right off.
If not...... a close inspection and wiggling up and down should tell you where it is hung. Don't go beating the piss out of it yet
Yes it is locked up. Can not get the piston to move by tapping or tightening the flywheel nut or clutch nut.You sure it ain't just sealed to the base real well? Don't stick anything in the ports and pry just yet. Is the saw locked up?
If that the case I would weld the nut on to get the stud out, studs be cheaper than a jug if he could save itIt's not possible to double but the studs. Not enough exposure and fins restrict anything other than a socket on the nuts.

Mid stroke between exhaust and intake. Is it at the top, or the bottom of the stroke?
That's one hell of an idea there! If the piston top is above the exhaust, use a grease gun and pump grease into it. Mike Lee gave me that advise a while back, the grease gun develops enough pressure to Get things moving
Mike Lee is one hell of a good dude !That's one hell of an idea there!
Yes he isMike Lee is one hell of a good dude !
Yes that is exactly where it is the ring is between the intake and exhaust port.![]()

Just happen to have one on my bench. Here's some photos for reference. If the rings are between the ports it's at BDC
