What Dave said...... Double nut the studs and remove them.

Probly have to poke in through the ports with a Dremel and clean up any burrs. Jug should come right off.

If not...... a close inspection and wiggling up and down should tell you where it is hung. Don't go beating the piss out of it yet
Not enough threads to double nut. In fact the threads don't even go through on nut

You sure it ain't just sealed to the base real well? Don't stick anything in the ports and pry just yet. Is the saw locked up?
Yes it is locked up. Can not get the piston to move by tapping or tightening the flywheel nut or clutch nut.

It's not possible to double but the studs. Not enough exposure and fins restrict anything other than a socket on the nuts.

If that the case I would weld the nut on to get the stud out, studs be cheaper than a jug if he could save it

What damage can you see through the ports and plug hole.
I'd be trying to find out where it's locked up. Can you find the
nut?
From what your describing i'm guessing the piston and cylinder
will be junk is my guess. I have taken a punch through the plug
hole and beat on a piston to remove it but only if i knew it wasn't
salvageable.

Just happen to have one on my bench. Here's some photos for reference. If the rings are between the ports it's at BDC

Well this is supposed to go back to the owner tomorrow. I am going to button it up tonight and go take my punishment what ever it may be. I may have just bought an 076 .
I hope the guy is halfway reasonable but I will totally understand if he is not.

yep not really enough room to double nut, maybe tack weld a nut to the top of the stud so you can take it out with a socket
