Run it. I've got saws that look like that that have gone years without issue.Digging through a box of junk parts, came across this 372 crankshaft, the clutch side has been damaged, in your opinions is it damaged beyond use? I fit an e-clip on it, tried to spin it around to see if it would pop off and it didn't, but that isn't to say it won't at 8-10k rpm.

Hit it with a few tack welds and clean it up with a Dremel? Id try that before tossing it.Digging through a box of junk parts, came across this 372 crankshaft, the clutch side has been damaged, in your opinions is it damaged beyond use? On my clamshells with my Stihls and Poulan, I just use sealant on the cylinder mating surfaces since that is where the potential air leak will be.So I got all new seals and gaskets for this 440 ..
Do I use any sealant on the case and cylinder mating surfaces or are the seals enough?
The huskys have a runner type seal that fits into the groove on the bottom of the cylinder... I'm just not sure if sealants actually needed or maybe it's a good idea for some added insurance? On my clamshells with my Stihls and Poulan, I just use sealant on the cylinder mating surfaces since that is where the potential air leak will be.
