Ah yes funky gas tank gunk, killer .My 2100 Husky had sat on a barn floor on some island off of Washington state for probably a decade from a bad coil,Fuel line was gone .
What I failed to realize it was still there in a different form, chit all over the inside of the tank . I must have rinsed that tank out a dozen times and cleaned the BS off the screen of the large bore Tilley HS carb before I pressure washed the tank, several times . That got-er-done finally .

I think it was just sawdust in the tank. I've had a saw where the fuel line melted in the tank that was a mess.

I've had or experianced fuel lines dissappearing on several .Partner,Husqvarna and Homelite .Seldom on Stihl and never on McCulloch .Why I have no idea ,perhaps the formulation of the synthetic rubber lines .Never the less it's a pain in the buttocks if they do .

I did run my 046 right behind it, it cut good too. Although the closer I got to the ball the more hollow the center was.

Wasn't a fair comparison, the 046 had the advantage in that softer wood.
