Ok, so it appears that my rubber I was using to block the exhaust side was leaking into the muffler. I don't have any more innertube rubber, i have no idea why, I should have at least one bad tube but none to be seen.

While I had the tank off I checked the jury rigged fuel lime and grommet. Turns out either the fuel lime he used was too big or the grommet was too small. I couldn't blow any air through it. So I think that was my problem all along. So I am gonna just rebuild the carb, replace the fuel lime with a smaller one and reassemble it and try again.

Update, rebuilt the carb, But I tore the grommet. I'm going to have to figure something out before I put the tank back on.

That would work too as long as you can get it to seal on the carb hose barb and fuel filter. Sometimes you can get away with a stihl filter, they are larger barbed.

I considered the larger hose, I also thought about using shrink wrap to build it up, but I'm not sure that's fuel resistant. I need a bigger supply of fuel line. The hole really isn't that big once I pulled the grommet.

I went to the farm show and tractor pull yesterday, and today was recovery/day off so I haven't had time to work on it. Maybe tomorrow.

I've had it apart a couple times. It's on right for sure. Im sure it was the fuel line, I tried to blow through it the way it was and was unable to blow through it easily. I need a new grommet but I'm going to use a smaller fuel line than the dealer used. Which I suspect was larger than necessary to begin with.

It's not that it was old. He just used the wrong one, it was pinched where it went in the tank.

It will start and fire right back up. No opening the tank or anything. Just dies. I may fiddle with the carb. The gasket deal throws me throughva loop. At least they told me about it.

I would go back to the dealer. I'm with above 2 gaskets no thanks.
