This is a great thread you guys here. Lots of nice tips and tricks. Perhaps the strongest 50cc I've ever built started as a 340, then got a 346 topend and 357 intake tract.

Is that the one you sent to my place to run on the dyno?

Yes. I have a commercial user in New England that LOVES his 346s. I have built him several. His buddy bought that 340 and is using it commercially. He says that 340 runs stronger than any of his 346s. Kind of ironic. Maybe it's a case volume thing.

I bet if you take the plug out and try rotating the fw by hand, it'll be abnormally tougher to turn than most saws. Run the hell out of it for a tank and it'll loosen up
Got a bar & chain headed here for it tomorrow.
I'll cut a bunch of poplar cookies and see how it does.

The seals make em toight.
I know.
But they usually loosen up after bout 5 min.
Maybe not.
You have a valid point.
Out of all the saws I've built, I've never had one do this

The only 350 I've ever done acted like this. I was sure I did everything right, but I had to idle it up a bit to get it to run. It acted like it wanted to stall if the chain wasn't bumping. I ran it for awhile and it freed up. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that when you tighten up that plastic pan, the bearings are no longer loose on the crank o_O

That doesn't make sense to me either.
Glad someone else has also ran into this.

Gonna mix up some different fuel (get the bike oil outta there) tomorrow and see if I can get this thing running over the weekend.
Prolly just needs to get good and warm
