I dunno about the Springfield performance, but I have a blue series 80 Gold Cup like that. You will likely want to change the hammer and seriously get the feed ramp polished. I'm taking it that this is going to me more of a competition gun with those sites. If your going to use the flat or cone shaped semiwadcutter the feed ramp attention is a must. The Springfield is likely cheaper and may have a better ramp but it may or may not have the Gold Cups level of accuracy. Mike if you were closer I'd trade saw stuff for a regular stainless series 80 I've hopped up.

I just bought tires for the wife and parts for saws to sell. No extra money for guns til those sell.Mike bro was selling one of those FN 45's with no reserve. Was way under last time I saw it.

Thanks for the feedback, I not ruling out any kind of competition in the future, but for now I just want a really nice shooting 1911.
Dan Wesson 1911 is barely higher than the others and is a lot of upgrades.
