I dunno about the Springfield performance, but I have a blue series 80 Gold Cup like that. You will likely want to change the hammer and seriously get the feed ramp polished. I'm taking it that this is going to me more of a competition gun with those sites. If your going to use the flat or cone shaped semiwadcutter the feed ramp attention is a must. The Springfield is likely cheaper and may have a better ramp but it may or may not have the Gold Cups level of accuracy. Mike if you were closer I'd trade saw stuff for a regular stainless series 80 I've hopped up.

I just bought tires for the wife and parts for saws to sell. No extra money for guns til those sell.

I have a buddy that would sure like one of their 414 supermags. He has a Dan Wesson 41 mag now.

Only one I've shot was the 1911. A friend bought one. Very nice shooting gun.

I recently bought a Ruger SR1911. Very fine gun. I tested the trigger out against a lot of competition brands. Only thing close IMO was a SIG.
