Good morning folks.
Things at the homestead have finally settled down enuf that a journey to a place with trees and hopefully a frozen over pond may be in order.
It warmed up overnight to a pleasant 33f at the homestead and just 5 degrees cooler at the other place, however temps are claiming to be dropping all day with a wind advisory and snow squalls with whiteout conditions mixed in. Just PERFECT for driving haha . . .

Woke up to 6° here this morning. At least the wind gusts are in the 30mph range instead of almost 50 yesterday. Still need coffee.

We picked up a pretty unpleasant head cold over Thanksgiving.....seem to be on the mend now, hopefully we'll be recovered enough to make it to the gtg Saturday.....hopefully.

Lots of stuff going around now. I usually make it through Christmas and then the long hours finally wear me down. Week or two of self medicating and back at it. Get better we need to have you there, I can't cut a consistent 16" unless I measure every thing. I only worry if it will fit in the splitter and the stove.

I'm trying to recover..... more for selfish reasons that a desperate desire to cut/split pecan....I just hate being sick....lol.

Tried gargling cayenne pepper in water for sore throat... worked quite well.

I always have people wanting to give me cats/kittens.

I always tell them that they will be running for their lives every time the dogs see them.


My Lab & Beagle both bristle up, from ears - tail when they see a cat.

My Lab shakes uncontrollably if I hold her back or stop her. Just sits & stares the cat down & shakes.

I have never had a Lab that could tolerate cats, come to think of it non of my Beagles have liked cats either.

It would be handy to have anti-cat dogs patrolling the place...

My wife and kids really like their cats, so I live with em.

I used to absolutely hate cats, but I decided I should be nice about it to please the rest of the crew.

For better or worse, I've kinda learned to like felines.....sorta.....still don't want to touch em or anything so reckless.
